We just need help in the way to power it.
Run dehumidifier with solar panel.
I had some problems i recommend using some sort of switch to automatically turn it off below a certain voltage.
Would we charge a rechargable battery using the solar rays or would we run it on solar power alone.
Figure out the right charge controller.
Solar powered dehumidifier pulls fresh water out of thin air.
Run the dehumidifier on a low setting early in the process.
So if someone needs enough cooling power to justify even a very small commercial dehumidifier and they would like to make the most efficient use of their spare solar panels it would be better by far to convert the dc output of the solar panels to ac using an inexpensive inverter and use that to power their mechanical dehumidifer.
If you have a lot of chilly rainy days where the kiln isn t getting much solar gain and the drying is going slow you could try it.
When in doubt go slow.
To use them you would need an inverter to match the type of power ac t0 dc and the voltage needed for the dehumidifier.
Also you would need enough solar panels to provide enough power for the dehumidifier and the inverter.
You need to regulate the power from the solar panel into either the humidifier or the battery setup.
If you have at least 500 square feet of photovoltaic panels in good condition and a high capacity sine wave inverter.
I d take the dehumidifier out of there if it gets really hot.
If you want to run it at night you will need batteries too.
When the compressor starts in the dehumidifier the starting power draw can be well over 3000 watts.
If the system can t supply t.
We have a dehumidifier and we really want to make it solar powered.
Solar panels are dc.
The solar panel that i have been looking at is the sunforce 50022 5 watt solar battery trickle charger.
Which they sandwiched between a solar panel and a water condensing plate.
